FROM HOPE CENTRAL: New Pilot Program in the Works! In partnership with Mission Community Services, and other providers who serve our homeless population, Hope Central will be offering a new service by providing showers, grooming and an opportunity to have clean clothes.

By providing this “hand up” service we will be helping our community struggling with homelessness to find dignity and hope, and remove some of the obstacles that get in the way of them applying for jobs, housing assistance and even medical care.

Early November is when we would like to start offering this service. Haven in the Hollow (Mission’s Emergency Shelter) will be providing the space and Hope Central will be providing supplies and volunteers. If you would like to get involved by volunteering, donating supplies or funds we would greatly appreciate it.

Volunteers are needed for morning weekdays (the day of the week to be determined). On Wednesday, October 30th there will be a meeting for those that are interested from 9:30-10:30am at Hope Central at Copper Hall.

Supplies needed are as follows:

  • Men’s & Women’s Undergarments
  • Bath Towels
  • Combs & Brushes
  • Tooth Brush & Paste
  • Body Soaps
  • Women Hygiene Products
  • Socks

We don’t really think about being clean until we cant! Just being clean makes you feel better about yourself. Being clean opens doors and gives people the opportunity to do what people do!
