First time attending

Walking into a new place and seeing a bunch of new faces is intimidating! Step through that and we’ll do our best to make you feel welcome and included.

Before you attend

  • People of all ages and stages of life attend Parkside! Single, married, divorced, young, old, no kids, lots of kids, immigrants, refugees, believers, skeptics, seekers and more!
  • You might find it more comfortable to watch a service online before attending in-person. Tune in here at 10am on Sundays.
  • Know how to get here: Parkside Church, 33837 Prentis Ave., Mission, BC.
  • Sunday service starts at 10:00am (arrive at 9:45am for coffee and goodies before and/or to check-in your kids).
  • Most people wear casual clothes to church these days.
  • Make a decision about attending… and even though it might be scary… go for it!

What to expect

Find a parking spot and enter through the main doors! You’ll be greeted by a volunteer. Coffee and baked goods are to the right. The auditorium is straight ahead.

There’s a Welcome Desk right at the entrance if you have any questions. Our bathrooms are right off the Lobby.

Have kids? Most Sundays, our Nursery, Mini Bears (ages 3-4), and K-6 programs are open. At the far end of the Lobby is our Kid’s Check-in Desk. If it’s your first time you’ll need to complete a registration form for each kid. If you’re returning, please use the self check-in kiosk.

Find a seat in the Auditorium. The service starts at 10am. Folks will stand and sing a few songs led by the band on stage. Then a service host will offer a prayer and some announcements. Following the announcements a Pastor will share a talk from the Bible. Typically, the service will end with a closing song and an invitation to come up for prayer (if you want). Once a month we have communion (a practice for Christians by which we remember Jesus’ death on the cross). It’s common to have other elements in a service as well (i.e. water baptism, child dedication, etc.).

We aim to be friendly, so you can expect either before or after the service for one or two people to come up and introduce themselves.

After the service, head home or linger around and meet some people. Either way, please share your experience with us and we’ll mail you a $5 gift card to a local coffee shop (link will be in your Newsletter). ‘Like us’ on Facebook and subscribe to our email newsletter.

Make a plan to come back each week. This weekly rhythm of being a part of a church is a good thing. Over time you may feel comfortable attending a mid-week event or even an upcoming class or small group.
