We often refer to Christmas as the ‘advent’ season since we reflect on the arrival of our Messiah nearly 2,000 years ago! We have a number of opportunities to reflect and celebrate the birth of Christ:

Advent Devotional: Draw close to God each day during this season. Pick-up an Advent devotional ($15 from the Welcome Desk).

Four Sundays of Advent: Starting December 3rd, we’ll count down the weeks to Christmas looking at the gift of Jesus each week through a different lens. We’ll also introduce an advent wreath and light a new candle each week to represent the light of Christ coming into a dark world. Finally, each service will include a Parkside testimony of what Jesus has meant in their life.

Kids Christmas Presentation: In our December 17th service, our Mini Bears, Grade K-3 and Grade 4-6 students will each present a Christmas song for our enjoyment and as worship to our God. During the sermon part, our kids will have a Christmas Party in the Youth Centre.

Christmas Eve: Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year! We’ll have similar services at both 10:00am on 5:00pm. Both will conclude with a candle lighting and goodies. Choose which one you’ll attend or double-dip if you like too!

Free Gift Sunday: A Parkside tradition! On the last Sunday of the year, we give out a gift to each household as a fun way to celebrate being a part of this family and encourage our faith in the year to come.

Lastly, if you have room at your table this Christmas season, let Pastor Clint (clint@parksidechurch.ca) know and there might be an opportunity to connect someone who is away from their family this year with your family!
